The primary thing you should do is see your doctor. Ask for a total physical check up. This will let you find your best starting point for working out and getting in shape. Start out slow. Trying to jog lots of miles right away is not good. The Couch to 5K Program is really a great way to help yourself get in shape. This is a regimen that should slowly but surely raise your running workouts until you're able to run a 5K marathon. Obviously, however, you have to do a lot more than simply jogging to get in shape. Weight training and cardiovascular training are essential too. If you don't have time for all of this, try to look for a swimming model of Couch to 5K-this way you'll work your whole body and build all of your systems safely and over time.

You should have a support group. Weighing too much may be awkward, but you will have a better chance of losing weight and getting in shape if you find some people to work with you. You can work together to eat right and exercise-these are generally folks who can check out weight watchers meetings with you, take exercise classes with you, etc. For those who are not comfortable doing this with people they know "in real life" they can find emotional support on the web. There are many online support groups for people who want to lose weight that you can join.

The genuine truth is that it will take time to shed weight and get your body into decent shape. The earlier you start to change things for the better, the better off you are going to be. The earlier you begin your efforts, the easier it'll be to work on building your body gradually and over time. Don't forget that this is a circumstance when you should work slowly and steadily--your body will thank you for taking enough time to do things properly.
